Queer Pride Botswana is the brainchild of Lawyer and LGBTQIA Activist Letlhogonolo Moremi, and Actor and Writer Donald Molosi. Our mandate is to create safe spaces for LGBTQIA persons and their allies to commune and celebrate diversity through shared stories and building support networks in a safe environment.
Queer Pride Botswana was born from a need to unite the community beyond the politics of struggle and beyond social borders. It was born to connect LGBTQIA+ persons beyond the common denominator of a shared struggle for human dignity. We identified lack of social spaces that allow for building a sense of community beyond shared oppressions or basic social interests. In response to this need, we create spaces that drive community dialogue in informal settings and give opportunity for members of the community to build genuine collective connections.
